Let the Year Begin With A Burst of Energy and Keep it Going!
Happy New Year!!!!
So, what have you been up to since all the decorations are down, the friends and family visits have come to an end? I'm thinking, LET THE YEAR BEGIN WITH A BURST! A burst of projects that is.
In Northeast Ohio we are having a rainy, gray day but I said to Charlee, the Border Terrier that rules our house, that it was time to go get the mail. Our mailbox is down our long driveway and she loves any opportunity to go for a walk. I grabbed my hooded jacket, got her leash and off we went to the mailbox.
I totally forgot that I had ordered Strips of Fun by Patrick Lose from The Missouri Star Quilt Co. Well...it was there in the box! I quickly said to Charlee, hurry up and let's check this out. Here it is
Don't you think it's a wonderful rainbow of inspiration on a gray, Ohio day?
I have my sketch ready and will soon draw the pattern and get the stitching started. My idea is to create a Coral Reef Quilt that will be perfect for inquisitive young children. Kids love the Aquarium and recently I was at the awesome Monterey Bay Aquarium. Have you been there? If not, please add it to your list. It's a well designed, highly informative and EXCITING place to be. Who can resist seeing the otters and jellyfish besides the rest of the creatures they have? They also do great research.
Here are a few photos from my visit.
While it is WINTER here I am teaching a class at The Quilted Thimble in Chesterland, Ohio for my WINTER quilt. Take a peak and if you are interested call the shoppe at 440-729-2259 to reserve a spot! Hope to see you there whether you are a beginner with appliqué or embroidery or a seasoned stitcher. It will be fun! The class is being offered on Saturday mornings at 10:30 to 1:00, January 10,17 & Feb.7.
Have a Colorful Day,
